Since 1991, the Air Technology division's Wittenberg site has
acted as profit center for parts and components of heating,
ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment and for the
production of standard-type equipment. |

In
1991, AL-KO Therm Wittenberg GmbH was established as
an independent subsidiary of the AL-KO Group. AL-KO purchased
approximately 60,000m2 of land, of which approximately 8,000m2
had been built on, and took over a total of 50 employees from
the former TGA combine (which manufactured technical equipment
for buildings).
Having
started with only 78 employees, AL-KO Therm Wittenberg GmbH
now has a total of 108 employees. During the first few years,
the people employed were almost exclusively former trainees
who completed their work experience with us.
From
1991 to 1998 approximately 11 million Deutschmarks were invested
in the newly constructed shipping and warehouse hall and in
the following facilities:

Sheet-metal

control via 21 axes and permits high-precision manufacturing

 AL-KO
Therm Wittenberg is located in Möllensdorfer Straße industrial
park, in the Lutheran town of Wittenberg. Wittenberg is located
in the heart of Germany's Saxony-Anhalt, on the Elbe river between
Berlin and Halle/ Leipzig. It is a town with a long history
and international fame. Wittenberg's fame goes back to Martin
Luther who, by putting up his 95 theses on the door of the castle
church on 31 October 1517, triggered the reformation which finally
spread to the rest of Europe. Today, Wittenberg is a town with
more than 53,000 inhabitants, and is visited every year by more
than 100,000 tourists from every corner of the world.
